Why was Roosevelt against the 20th amendment?

This amendment was proposed before Roosevelt was nominated to run for President. New York where he was governor , ratified it 9 days after it was proposed. If Roosevelt was against it, he was not an effective opponent of it. The amendment had little opposition, so if he was against it at all, I suspect he kept quiet about his objection.

Amendments were not used in the Quarles case. Miranda rights procedures were used. In the quarles case, the justices found that police officers could ask the suspect for the wherabout of his pistol when a holster was found, before Miranda rights were given to the suspect. The court found that a "public safety" exception allowed police to question the suspect as to the location of his gun, prior to be arrested and his Miranda rights read to him.
