u can use a aqueon 55 gallon filter
yes you can it will be fine. i have experience :) haha
You may be able to use a very small internal filter with a 2.5 gallon tank. You can check with your local fish/pet store and they may be able to show you ones that would work for your tank
I strongly recommend the Whisper filter. It is so easy to use -- you literally just take it out of the box and hang it over the side of the tank. No assembly required. Replacement filter cartridges (called Bio Bags) are sold separately.
Yes it should be OK. I would advocate that you use a filter too and do at least a 50% water change weekly.
I would use 4"x 3" timbers.
I personally would empty it, then scrub it clean and use it occasionally as a flower vase. It is not large enough to keep any kind of fish in properly. The basic rules for keeping fish successfully are. :- 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water (a Betta is a 3 inch fish). Every tank must have a permanently running 'cycled' filter. Every tank must have at least 50% of its water replaced every week. The above is not completely true. A Betta in a half gallon tank should have half of its water replaced each week. You should use a conditioner with that water (mine came with Nutrafin Betta Bowl Water Conditioner). I also make 20% of it HBH Betta H2O, which can be bought in bottles.
they are fast fish feed them flakes or blood worms watch out for the filter they get sucked in easily Oh ok and are there any special cleaning techeneces i should use?
Different species need different conditions and water currents. I would get a filter that will turn over the capacity of the tank at least once every hour.
The bigger the tank, the better. I use my spare 10 gallon on my brine shrimp. I raise them to feed my betta.
most use a 22 gallon fuel tank.
They are a 6 to 7 inch fish so you could just get away with keeping one in a 'Nominal' 8 gallon tank. (when in use it will only be holding around 7 gallons) These fish should be kept at around 78F. If you want to keep fish succesfully. None of them. I would use litres. However, if you wish to use non-standard, obsolete units you could use "gallon".
