"Jamaica" Kool Aid is meant to mimic the flavor of the Caribbean beverage Sorrel. The flavors in Sorrel are mainly derived from a particular hibiscus (giving it it's intensely red color) and ginger. Recipes vary and many contain wine or even rum. Some consider the Kool Aid flavor and Sorrel itself to be an acquired taste. I personally like it though there are other flavors I like more. The flavor is definitely different than those one is probably familiar with.
