They had specific rations and in total they got 22 ounces of food and 3 pints of milk.

This included: 1 oz. of meat, 4 oz. bacon or ham, 3 pints of milk, 2 oz. butter, 2 oz. margarine, 2 oz. fat or lard, 2 oz. tea, 1 egg, 2 oz. jam, 3 oz. sugar, 1 oz. cheese, 3 oz. sweets. That was their ration per week per family.
