Ew, who really cares. Glad I could help. Good luck :)
Stomach mucus helps break down food in the stomach.
Mucus in the stomach is used for the easy passage of food into the duodenum. In the stomach, mucus helps prevent our stomach acid from leaking out, thus burning our inner organs.
In the stomach, the stomach acid is there to digest protein. Your stomach, as is mucus, is made of protein. So, your stomach produces mucus to sacrifice instead of the stomach muscle/protein. The mucus is continually being digested by the acid, but it is also continuously being produced at the same rate as its digestion. The mucus also protects the inner lining of the digestive system against abrasive objects you may have eaten. Lubrication? Need I say more than that mucus is slippery so the food slides more easily.
Mucus protects the intestinal walls, binds fecal matter and helps control pH of contents.
Pepsin helps in digestion of proteins, hydrochloric acid and mucus. HCl helps in killing bacteria present in food. When food leaves stomach it is partially digested soupy liquid called as chyme.
The mucus lining in the stomach is actually a protection barrier between the stomach and it's own acids. A new layer of mucus is created bi-weekly so that the acids in the stomach don't burn through the stomach and eventually the entire body.
I am sorry. I don't know exactly what your question is asking but I do know that our stomach has many acids that help us digest food and our stomach is lined with mucus so the acids can't eat our stomach. Hope this helps! :)
Mucus helps the chewed food "bolus" slide down the esaphugus "throat".
it lined with mucus to help digest the food chemically and to keep the stomach from acid
mucus in the stomach coats the stomach walls to protect against the stomach acid. Mucus also coats some of the food to allow it to slide through the digestion track easier. Someone will have to talk about the lungs I knew there was moisture in the lungs but not mucus
The walls of the stomach contain a thick layer of mucus. The stomach itself is filled with pepsin and Hydrochloric acid in order to digest food. The thick layer of mucus prevents these acids from digesting the wall of your stomach. Occasionally this mucus recedes and some of the acid can get in. When this occurs, it causes a Peptic Ulcer.
Without mucus your stomach would eat it self. The acids help break food down.
