Italy does not import much food, so anything that isnt grown nearby isnt eaten there.
A lot of Ethnic ingredients that we see in USA they do not have. A lot of the processed or convenience food products are not available there also.
To answer what food is rarely eaten i would say large beefsteak such as T bone steak. Italians do no eat large portions of steak alone as Americans do. It is used more as a flavoring for other dishes.
