There are a number of functions that could be used to achieve that. They are all categorised as lookup functions. Included in them would be ones like VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, LOOKUP, INDEX and MATCH. You could also use the Advanced Filter facility.
You can use the Filter to do it.
The SUMIF function.
hlookup
The MATCH function can find the position of an item in a table.
Excel does not have an UPLOKVERT function. You might be thinking of VLOOKUP. You use VLOOKUP when your comparison values are located in a column to the left of the data that you want to find.
a table used to show values of the variable expression for a given function
You can copy a table in Excel and paste it into Word. You will lose any formulas, but the resulting values will be retained. You can also link a Word document to a table in Excel, which will allow changes in the Excel table to be maintained in the Word document.
The MATCH function can do that.
The MATCH function.
A table of values is no use if the domain is infinite.
The COUNT function will do it. You just need to specify your table range. Say your table is from B2 to E16, then the function would be: =COUNT(B2:E16)
The MATCH function.
