K&N states 11.83 hp gain @ 4248 rpm
depending on the style of intake, and type of car you can gain up to around 20% hp
You have to remove the intake before you can gain access to the thermostat housing
Add a cold air intake. (4-8 hp gain) Change your exhaust. (Mufflers, 6-15 hp gain / full catback system 20-40 hp gain) High performance wires and plugs. (4-12 hp gain) Underdrive pulleys (8-15 hp gain) Super chip (10-20 hp gain)
5 or 10 horse.
idk exact specifics, but after installing mine there is a definite notice in increased hp. i strongly suggest the cold air intake.
Both types of intakes have their advantages, for a non-turbo car you can almost always gain more power with a cold-aid intake. No matter which intake you choose for your Honda Civic you'll still gain a good amount of power. The link I provided should help you look at quite a few. Cheers, GPI Performance
No, you can only gain with a cold air intake if you are moving up from stock, getting denser air into the engine. Now unless you have the new Cadillac CTS-v, you'll only be going up in horse power. A cold air intake can sometimes add up to 20 horsepower.
The AEM Cold Air Intakes work really well and gain real power that you can feel. If you click the link you can find one for your Mitsubishi Lancer. Cheers, GPI Performance
if you replace it, it will just sound the same if you upgrade it you will gain about 2-3HP and use more fuel meaning less mileage I HAVE A 2003 TAHOE AND I INSTALLED THE COLD AIR INTAKE AND IT GAVE IT A BETTER SOUND
how much u lookin too gain?? Catback exhaust, cold intake, full exhaust.
manufacturer may claim 5-10bhp gain but i would expect no more than 3-5bhp from a good cia (cold air intake)
Very tough job. It is on the inside of the intake piping on the front passenger side of the engine. You will have to remove the hoses, throttle body, and the piping to gain access.Very tough job.
