The size of the front ring gear in a 1992 Chevy pickup is 7.5 inches. The 7.5-inch ring gear needs a 26 spline axle shaft.
It is a 75w90 synthetic gear oil.
90 W Gear oil
Most Chevy/GMC rearends will fit as long as they are the same series, 1500/2500/3500, but the most important thing is you MUST find one that has the same gear ratio as your front axle. Also look at Suburbans, similar chassis.
should be a plate mounted on one of the bolts on the chunk that will tell you the chunk is the big thing in the middle of the axle
for my 02 1500 2wd its 75/90 gear oil
Answertime for an overhaulor, sometimes truck rear-ends have speed sensors on the rear axle, and if it goes bad, then it wont let truck shift gears
