It is the same as human, ie.DNA. In fact, bacteria are the ancestors of all the species, and so they named as prokaryotes. They trascribe RNA and synthesise proteins like us.

Which characteristic do viruses share with living thing?

They contain genetic material. Although virus' contain genetic material, they can not reproduce without being inside of a host cell. Many scientists question if they can be considered living or not, as this is the only life function they are capable of performing.

Bacteria are called what because their genetic material is not contained in nuclei?

While it may be true that bacteria do not have nuclei like the other kingdom's of life, they still have genetic material, often as a singular circular strand. In addition, some bacteria contain smaller additional strands of circular DNA called plasmids that allow for additional properties, often impacting its antibiotic resistance and virulence. All the lack of a nucleus means is that the genetic material is not bound to a single area, it is free to roam throughout the cell. If bacteria did not have genetic material they would have no way of reproducing and spreading their traits. Genetic material is essential to the formation of new life forms and the expressions of characteristics. Even viruses which aren't even classified as alive contain genetic information!

Is virus a plant?

No, a virus is not a plant. Viruses are non-living organisms/structures that contain genetic material and that are sub-microscopic in size and cause illness and infections in people, animals, plants and even in bacteria.

What is the genetic material that contains characteristics of living organisms?

The DNA molecule is the genetic material of life.

Do all living organisms have genetic material?

Yes, all living things have genetic material.

Bacterial cells do not have genetic material?

No they don't have genetic material

Do beans have genetic material?

anything that was once living has genetic material

Eukarotic cells have genetic material?

All living things have of a genetic material.

Do both cells and viruses have genetic material?

Viruses do not contain DNA or RNA . . . they 'steal' those molecules from their host living cell.

Is a T4 bacteriophage virus living or non living?

Bacteriophage viruses are nonliving. They are DNA or RNA encapsulated in a protein coated capsule with recognition sites to bind to specific target sites on bacteria and insert their genetic material for viral replication or to induce changes in the bacterial genetic material.

Genetic material in living organism is composed of organic molecules called?

First of all you're question is flawed. All living things contain genetic information, and therefore seeing as the cell is the smallest unit of life they must all contain genetic information. Prokaryotic cells have naked DNA, meaning it is not encapsulated in a nucleus while eukaryotic cells contain the DNA in a nucleus.

Peas can be canned or frozen Which of these will contain living bacteria?

The frozen peas would contain living bacteria. The canned peas are actually sterilized.
