John Cabot is credited with discovering Canada and claiming it in the name of King Henry VII of England. He was disappointed at his discovery, because he had hoped to find a route to the far east and return to England with treasures. However, King Henry was pleased and sent Cabot back on a return voyage. Unfortunately, on his second voyage, he and his entire crew vanished.
