Try 20W-50 to increase oil presure and perhaps reduce oil burning
Since this is an old bike the engine is likely to be worn. You can try single grade W 40 oil. If the engine is good and not so worn, use multi grade 10 W 40 oil, intended for motorcycles. Don´t use normal car engine oil. If the exhaust smoke is very black, then this indicates you should use a W 40 oil. However, if you are driving the bike in a cold climate, then use the 10 W 40 oil. Change oil every 2 or 3 thousand kilometers if the engine is very worn out.
If the manufacture recommends the use of an Xw40 viscosity grade it should be fine. The same if an Xw30 viscosity grade is recommended but the engine is well worn. Consider also the quality certifications as well as the viscosity grade before choosing to use the oil in this application.
Use any JASO MA or MA2 approved engine oil grade 15-40 W or, in case of a worn engine, single grade 40 W oil can be used. Equally, you can use any SF SG category oil for this ATV.
10w30 should work fine.
In case of a rebuilt engine in good condition and a temperate climate, use a 15-40 W oil. In case of a worn engine and a hot climate, use single grade 40 W.
A 10W-30 or 10W-40 should be fine.
What grade of oil is best in your 5.3 liter Chevy engine?"
The exact number isn't as important as how much the pressure gauge fluctuates. Watch the gauge when the engine is first started. It should go up somewhere near the middle. That's the point at which the pressure bypass engages. Then watch the oil pressure after the engine warms up. If the oil pressure drops significantly AT AN IDLE when the engine is warm, you have worn main and/or rod bearings... but WORN doesn't mean WORN OUT. If the engine is still able to maintain oil pressure, even though it drops a little when warm, you can raise the oil pressure by changing to a heavier (thicker) grade oil. If you've been using 5W15, change to 10W30 or even 15W40. You'll be surprised at how much of a difference that can make.

What is the best grade oil for Quad bikes
Depends on what engine is in this car. Use the 5W-40W grade fully synthetic engine oil. For gasoline engine check that the oil is A3 spec. For diesel engine, it should be B3 spec.
