option 1: ask dell support at "support.dell.com"
option 2: post more info about what you bought on your dell e520, what programs you wish to use, etc. N.B. whether or not your computer has PCI-E (cord straight from CPU to your card), AGP, or good old PCI slot (almost guaranteed to have some of these, but they are crap for graphics cards so look for API, most likely, or PCI-E, which is the best). A good ol' Google of AGP and PCI-E will show you some nice pictures.
*Check out this guide from our friends at Diamond (they produce fine graphics cards if I may say so myself, but this guide is a general guide): http://www.diamondmm.com/howtobuyvideocard.php
Yes it will fit,you will need a 450W psu to really get the best out of your GTX
There is not much opinion with the e520 unless you replace your PSU.
The Dell E520 desktop does not necessarily have any extra or special features in it compared to other desktops. It is however, a decent desktop that runs great.
I do not believe this model of DELL has a firewire port available. You will need some kind of adapter.
usb to usb on both ends to connect them.
I'm stupid of buying this without checking anything, I put it in and the computer wouldn't start. I think it's because the e8400 has a bus speed of 1333Mhz and the e520 can't support that speed but I'm not sure. You'll have to get something that Dell recommends, or you'll find out that you've wasted a lot of money.

no
The ThinkPad E520 can be purchased from many technology and computer stores, or online, from retailers such as Amazon or the maker of the ThinkPad itself, Lenovo.
1024 MB memory, Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE graphics chipset, PCI Express video bus, DDR2 video memory, Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 processor, 1860.0 MHz speed, 250 GB hard drive, Windows XP Media Center, and a DVD optical drive. Of course there are a lot more specs, but these are just the basics.
As long as it has Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 the software works.
Per the dell site: Dell Dimension Home systems have been superceded by the Dell Inspiron range. Per wiki: As of June 2007, Dell replaced the low-end Dimension with the Inspiron line of desktop computers, later offering higher-end consumer machines under the Studio line in 2008. The Dimension is now sold for the business and non-American markets. However, the high-end Dimension 9200 and 9200c (XPS 410 and XPS 210 in the American market) is still being manufactured. The E520/1 and their "C" models no longer exist, and are now part of the Inspiron line, which was previously only a laptop line, under the names Inspiron 530/1 (S) with a new case design.
