Dielectric grease (a.k.a. non-conductive grease) and Maplins grease would do the job. If you have the flashing S problem on cold weather, don't use the regular petroleum-based grease.
The selector lever.
It's below the gear selector lock button on the automatic transmission cosole shift
That would be the OVERDRIVE selector switch.
That means the switch on the gearbox or lever is stuck for some reason.
pickup selector switch
My 1987 RX7 GXL automatic is getting its' THIRD Neutral Safety Switch, also called the Inhibitor Switch. The switch allows the starter circuit to start the car if the gear selector is in P or N. If the selector is in any other gear the circuit will not open and the car will not start. Sometimes the switch can be "adjusted". Most of the time it is replaced for about $435 part and labor.
yes, the shift linkage has a switch to only allow the car to start in either park, or neutral. All automatic transmissions have a neutral safety switch. It is misadjusted or defective.
how do i replace the fuel selector switch on the dash of a 1995 ford f250
If the truck is manual. There are a couple of place to check. A bad ignition switch, bad clutch interlock switch or a bad starter relay. If it is an automatic. The selector switch could be bad.
On the Ford Explorer , on the end of the automatic transmission gear selector lever ( park , reverse etc ) there is a push button that allows you to turn off the OVERDRIVE feature if you wish
This is the Summer/Winter selector. Mercedes C-Class cars have automatic traction control, and this switch is just their verslon of a sensitivity control. More slick in winter than in summer.
The fuel tank selector switch can be found on the left side of the dash of a 1984 F-150. This is immediately next to the headlight switch.
