Hawaii is a state in the United States of America. ANOTHER ANSWER Actually, legally Hawai'i is still it's own country. I have yet to have someone actually prove with documentation that Hawaii is legally a part of the United States. And if they do find it, please pass it on to the U.S. Dept. of Justice because they questioned that not once, but twice.
