The gun used was a 1910 Browning semi-automatic. The model number being M1910 and its serial number was 19074.
The gun in question was of such a high standard and universally applicable that it remained in production long after both world wars which were subsequently started by Gavrilo Princip's successful assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
The last production run ended in 1983.
On a side note it is a little known fact that it should have been a grenade that took Ferdinand's life but a last minute change of route meant the assassination had to be called off.
However as Gavrilo returned home he must have been astounded when the Archdukes car came into view heading down the very road he was going up and with no serious escort. Gavrilo took his chance and started a truly insidious chain of events that would shape the world we live in today.
