He himself would have probably answered that this question "does not apply".
Paranibbana - the final nibbana - is the complete cessation of suffering. The fires of craving are extinguished and there is no further rebirth. This final state/place/existence/experience (whatever you choose to think of it as) is said to be beyond the capacity of language. Basically you can't describe it with words.
This question is not applicable to Buddha or Arhants because they have no Rebirth after death. When Buddha was asked, what happens to him after death? Buddha replied, this question is not applicable to him. His state of existence after death will be beyond to be or not to be.
The Buddhists believe that after you die you are reborn based off of how you acted during your life. If you acted poorly, you'll be reborn something bad, like an ant. But if you acted good, the opposite will happen.
After death the Buddha was cremated. Relics (as an example, one of his teeth) are preserved. As is the case with saints relics in the Christian churches, no proof of the origin of these objects is available.
Buddhists go neither to the Christian heaven or hell any more than Christians go to the Egyptian afterlife to be judged by osirus who weighed their heart against the Feather of Truth. Every religion has an imaginary place they think they will wind up in. For Buddhists, if they die when they have not yet become enlightened they are returned to the cycle of death and rebirth through reincarnation. if they are enlightened they may enter the state of Nirvana where they loose all sense of self in union with the Universe - if they want to. if they do't opt for Nirvana they may return to the cycle of death and rebirth to help others find enlightenment. As an aside, Buddhism has no gof granting passage or judgement in the afterlife, it is a persons own actions that determine their fate. There is no heaven or hell just a constant process of striving for enlightenment.
Interestingly, Mark Twain in "Captain Stormfield's Visit to Heaven" (1909),proposes that if there is a heaven it is big enough with enough doors to allow members of all faiths to find what they expect whether it is flitting around on white wings for Christians, fighting all day and drinking all night in the Vikings Valhalla, or purposeful non-existence in Nirvana.
Buddhists believe in an essentially unending sees of cycles between death and rebirth. This potentially ends when enlightenment is reached and you may or may not enter Nirvana a state of selfless being. If you chose not to enter Nirvana you can return to the cycle of death and rebirth to help others become enlightened.
Reincarnation, i.e. do it all over again.

Historically, when Buddhism was brought to ancient China it blended with Daoism to produce Zen Buddhism. .
Death !!!
It is common belief in Christianity that after death one goes to heaven.Other religions such as Buddhism believes in reincarnation, where after this life one is born into another. Then there are those who believe that once you die that is the end.
In Buddhism you progress through re-birth and death seeking enlightenment. When you are enlightened you can enter into a state of Nirvana which is a loss of the illusion of self. Essentially "you" are not there. Alternately you can chose to return to the cycle of death and rebirth to help others attain enlightenment.
Cremation is common in Buddhism.
they are suffering, death and starvation
The same old thing.
They both believe in reincarnation.
Buddhism change after the Buddha death- his followers developed many different interpretations of his teachings . Although Buddha forbidden people to worship him, some began to teach that he was a god.
Buddha developed the teachings and process of allowing humans to escape suffering and the cycle of death and rebirth that were later called Buddhism.
