What are the symptoms of a bad 99 Chrysler input speed sensor and an output speed sensor?

IF the speedo does not work that means is not getting a signal from the output sensor. Also delayed and erratic and mushy are controlled by the input sensor speed battery level must be correct/ idle speed all this is to the battery of sensors opening and closing at proper perspective intervals.

How do you know when the speed sensor needs to be replaced?

To check if a speed sensor is bad. Pull the sensor and connect your ohm (resistance) meter probes to the two terminals of the speed sensor. There needs to be 7 or more pulses of zero resistance, and the resistance between needs to be infinite. There are 2 speed sensors, an input and output. I had this happen once, and to put it real simply, your speedometer won't work anymore.

Where is the transmission output sensor on a 2000 Grand Cherokee?

On my 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7 are 2 sensors. They are both located on drivers side of transmission. The one close to bell housing is input shaft speed sensor. The one at end of transmission is output shaft speed sensor. My input sensor went bad but replaced both. Both sensors are the same. Fairly easy to change out. About $47.00 each at dealer.

Speedometer stopped working anyone have any suggestions on what it might be?

I took my 02 liberty 6 cyl. to have it diagnosed. Stated that the speed output sensor was bad. I bought a new one and replaced it. (There are two sensors on this transmission - input and output) Speedometer still not working! I swapped sensors, since it is the same sensor for input or output, but still no speedometer working. There are two more sensors in the differential. Those did not appear on the diagnostic tool but i might consider replacing. If anyone has ran into this problem yet, please spread the wealth. Thanks.

If the speed sensors on a 95 Tahoe are bad will that cause the engine light to come?

Yes it will.

How does a speed sensor go bad?

One of the main reasons a speed sensor can go bad on a vehicle is the location of where it is placed. Speed sensors are subjected to the elements. Road debris, dirt, water, and other things can hit it while a person is driving down the road. Speed sensors are usually placed near the drive shaft in the rear of the transmission case.

Why won't my anti lock brake light in 1997 Honda accord XL v6 turn off?

Sometimes the wheel speed sensors go bad and causes this to come on. You need to replace the speed sensor or sensors. dr_performance@hotmail.com

Where is the speed sensor located in a 1996 Aurora?

their are two different speed sensors on that car the input speed sensor which is located inside the transmission and the transmission needs to be removed in order to replace it and the other speed sensor is the output speed sensor which is located directly above the passenger side trans-axle shaft. your input sensor is the sensor which tells the transmission when to shift and the output speed sensor tells the speedometer what it should display and both those parts are fairly cheap they are around 15-25 dollars but just remember if your input speed sensor is bad it is gonna cost you a minimum of 1000 dollars to have a mechanic fix it because of the fact that the transmission needs to be removed.

Your 1992 LEBARON speedometer do not work lights are on the dash but wont gage any speed?

I had a similar problem with my 94 lebaron. There are 3 transmission speed sensors on the 3 litre V6. If that is what your car has, its possible one of these speed sensors are bad. Check your local auto parts store, im sure they could look up the sensors for you. The one i needed was less than $20 and installed easily with no special tools.

Your camaro is reving out when you stomp on the accelerator but when you dont stomp on it and drive it normal its is fine what could the problem be?

could be vacumn lines to the tranny are crimped or broken. also tranny may need gone through, filter change, tighten bands or torque converter could be bad. in newer (early 90's and up) there are rev limit sensors and input/output speed sensors that can go bad. lots of things, i'd take it to a tranny shop, they can diagnose it and then u could fix it depending upon your mechanic skills
