Blown fuse. Your brake lights don't work either.
The fuse, if not, then the switch, then the motor, but by then you will also need a test light and/or a DMM.
Use an automotive test light and see if you have power at the cigarette lighter accessory plugs. Than test both prongs on the fuse installed with the light. See if the fuse is getting juice.
I just had this same problem with my 1998 VW Jetta. My parking brake light came on one day, but only half illuminated. Shortly after my windshield wipers and headlights stopped working. My radio works but the fans don't work either. I just found a thread which seems to point the problem at the ignition switch: http://car.justanswer.com/volkswagen/6uht-1998-volkswagen-jetta-headlights
A light signal
yes they but it on a scan tool and they should tell you what the problem is and what needs to be done.
If the left light on your Pintara has stopped working, but the globes and fuses are okay, the wire may have a problem which causes it to lose power. To determine the problem, trace the wire to check for a break.
my freezer is working but the fridge stopped the light is out as well. i took thew light out and tried it in the freezer and it worked so i figure it is a fuse i opend up the electrical box on the fridge and not sure witch fuse to pull or if there is another fuse else where
Is the light bulb inside burnt out. If so, that would do it.
try a new stop light switch
Nope, bet it was the other way around... Your speedometer stopped working and your check engine light came on. A broken speedometer (don't know what car so I can't pinpoint it) will cause a whole bunch of codes.

Check the fuse and horn relay.
Check bulbs, fuse, bad ground, brake light switch.
