  1. Neil Armstrong retired from NASA the year after Apollo 11. In 1971, he became a professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He did that until 1979. From 1982 until 1992, he was the chairman of a company that made computer software for flight scheduling.

After the Apollo 11 astronauts returned to earth , they were picked up by the aircraft carrier Hornet and taken to the U.S.A. They were in quarentine for a few weeks.
