Time passed, as it does for us. Genesis 15:13,God said that there would be 400 years between the family going down into Egypt and coming back to Canaan...or Israel. The land of Goshen where Joseph's Pharoah let them settle was a rich land, suitable for flock grazing. History is very boring when there are no wars or upheavals. So for about 375 years, it was just life as usual. Live, eat, have kids, be happy. We note that in the first chapter of Exodus, the statement is made that a new Pharoah arose in Egypt who did not know Joseph. It can be argued from the text that perhaps the rest of Egypt went to war and this new Pharoah was the victor of the war. At any rate, he began to oppress the people in Goshen, and the rest is history.
No Exodus is about 3000 years after Genesis
Between Bereshis (Genesis) and Sh'mos (Exodus) in the Torah, there are four blank lines, just as there are in the other three interstices between its books.
