In 1917, Russia went through two major revolutions. The first, known as the February Revolution, led to the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II and the establishment of a provisional government. The second, known as the October Revolution, saw the Bolsheviks, led by Lenin, seize power and establish a communist government. This ultimately led to the Russian Civil War and the formation of the Soviet Union.
