Well in order to understand what happened in the 1950's in the Kasmir region. We must first understand that during the year 1947 Pakistan achieved independance from India. However, in an attempt to consolidate power India launched a full-scale invasion on Pakistan and te Azad Kashmir (Free of Indian occupation region) region. Although this invasion enatailed raping and mudering the thousands of Kashmiri civilians. These events left a harsh bitterness towards India. In later years, explicitly 1965, during the India_pakistan War the people of Kashmir fought hard to prevent Indian attempts of a full-scale invasion.
These events also initiated 'Operation Tupac' in the later 1980's. Whereby, Pakistani leader General Zia launched a line of covert operations in Indian-Kashmir to eliminate Indian officials who instigated War between the two sovereign powers.
