Many things happened on April 22 1957. Willie Mays has a three-run homer at the Polo Grounds, John Irwin Kelly became the first black player for the Phillies and they installed the famous front gates at Graceland.

Nothing earth shattering on November 20th. '73 was a big year though; President Nixon was experiencing Watergate and the Yom Kipper War in Southwest Asia created the "even/odd" numbered license plates at the gas stations. People were pushing their "gas guzzlers" up the gas station drive ways waiting in line for gasoline. The "Big Three" (Ford, Chevy, and Chrysler") had to jump start themselves into selling small cars...and managed to market only the "Chevy Vega" and the "Ford Pinto" to compete with the fuel economical Toyota's & Datsun's (the old name of today's Nissan). Gas prices had jumped from 29 cents a gallon to $1.00 over night. The Alaskan Pipeline was set to go into construction shortly afterwards. We wanted no more dependence on foreign oil after the Yom Kipper War of '73.
