The dress of Glinda the Good Witch must be in the hands of a private collector. For all of the costumes from the beloved 1939 film version of 'The Wizard of Oz' are either in the hands of private collectors or on public display. The only way in which the public learns of their private whereabouts is through auctions. For example, the Cowardly Lion costume was part of a Hollywood memorabilia sale on eBay on December 14-15, 2006. In the previous year, Dorothy Gale's blue and white gingham dress was auctioned for 140,000 British pounds in London.
Not sure, but an earlier version of the dress was worn by Jeanette McDonald in a scene before the earthquake in the 1930's movie San Francisco co-starring Clark Gable.
