Exactly what happens to any loser. It goes with the rest of the losing government. That is the organization. Many high and low ranking individuals got away, some to the USA and UK. Many to Argentina, Chile, Paraquay etc.

The Gestapo also known as the "Stapo" was the Nazi secret police. It was formed in April 1933 by Herman Goering. Their role was to 'sniff out' opponents of the Nazi regime.

The name is based on the full name: Geheime Staatspolizei - which means 'Secret State Police'. Here 'state' means 'government'. It was the Nazis' secret political police. Established initially by Goering in 1933, it was transferred to Himmler's control in 1934 when the whole Nazi terror apparatus was fully centralized.

The Gestapo was the Nazi political police and the key element in the regime's terror apparatus.
They were the secret police force of the Third Reich.

They were NOT paramilitary soldiers like the SS (Schutzstaffel) or its predecessor, the SA. The Gestapo was also not a normal civilian police force that solved petty crimes. They were more involved in the Final Solution and political dissension.

The Geheime Staatspolitzei was the Secret, States (That is town or municipal) Police force. They were responsible for policing civillians both in Germany & in occupied territories. The Military police force equivilent was the GeFePo. (Geheime Feld Politzei) With just reason the Gestapo was feared throughout Europe and were from the Nazi Partys most ardent supporters. But these people were not Stormtroopers & neither were they soldiers, neither did they actually carry out the Holocaust as such, they were Policemen. They had a feared reputation in occupied France, Belgium & Holland searching for downed allied airmen trying to get back to UK with the aid of the Resistance. When I say they didn't carry out the Holocaust I mean they didn't man the Concentration Camps, that was the SS: yes they did arrest Jews & Jewish sympathisers & so on. For those of you that haven't seen the wonderful British TV series 'Allo 'Allo (It's a comedy !) Herr Flick is a terrific defuser of these horrid peoples terrible reputations.

Since I wrote the above I have seen evidence that the US Forces did not differentiate between the SS & the Gestapo. Indeed the SS was in overall command of these police.
