I think that might be different in every Bundesland (state) since school does not begin everywhere at the same time. But where I come from we have our first " big break" how we would call it, at 9.35 to 9.50. Then again 2 lessons with a small break of 5 minutes and from 11.25 to 11.40 another break. But after the sixth lesson it depends on what the teacher and the students agree on whether to have another 15 minutes break or only have 5 minute break. So you cannot really call it "lunchtime" because most of the schools do not even have a cafeteria where you could buy a lunch. And I´m not sure whether 15 minutes are enough time to feed 1200students. But we have a bakery and our "Butterbrote" our moms made for us^^.

In an average German school nothing happens at 12 o'clock except students sitting in the classroom and being taught.

Most public schools in Germany have class from 8 (8 am) until 13 (1 pm) o'clock, so there normally is no Lunch.

Some schools voluntarily offer Lunch attaching Homework support or child care.

However older students visiting a "Gymnasium" which equals a Prep School (US) or Grammar School (UK) do have lessons past midday, so after Lunch they have Lessons again.

Normally, German schools are only in the mornings, or until 1 PM. A new law is introducing "all day school", but it generally only applies to new students when they are starting school. At the same time, the normal 13 years of school is being reduced to 12.

A school break is called 'Pause' and can last from 5 minutes up to 25 minutes.

Primary/elementary schools likely have lunch time after lessons are finished at 11.30 to 12.00.

An actual lunch break is uncommon for schools that are providing secondary education.

It's important to know that in Germany schools are allowed to determine their own schedules, so customs can vary greatly.
