Yes, that is normal! This is a newer option using The Pill offers to women. Once you finish the active pills, you skip the placebo pills and start a new pack the following day. Skipping the placebo pills keeps your hormone levels steady so you will not have a period.
This is very handy to use if your period is going to come at an inconvenient time, you have heavy periods - even while using BCP or you just don't want to be bothered having a monthly cycle. Currently it seems to be recommended by some BCPmanufactures that after 3 months of active pills, you use the placebo for a week before starting the next packet. These details should be discussed with your doctor or Family Planning clinic. Only take your pills as directed and check with a professional prior to making any changes in any prescription medication.
