No power will go to the electric fuel pump until the inertia switch is reset by
pushing the button down if it has popped up on the top of the switch
my 92 is in the trunk.
On a 1998 Ford Taurus : The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is located in the trunk , on the passenger side , behind the trunk liner ( there is an access hole )
check inertia switch
If the fuel pump inertia switch has " tripped " so the button on top of the switch has popped up , by pushing the button down the switch should reset and restore the electric flow to the electric fuel pump
Fuel pump inertia switch " tripped " , blown fuse for electric fuel pump , bad fuel pump relay , broken wire ( anybody else have any ideas ? )
You find the fuel pump inertia switch and if it is tripped and needs resetting then it was activated.
Double check that the emergency fuel switch / inertia switch hasn't been tripped off.I believe it's located in the back, right corner of the trunk - but see "Related Questions" below to be sure...
According to the 2007 Ford Taurus Owner Guide : The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is located in the trunk , behind the trunk liner on the passenger side ( there is an access hole according to the drawing )
Possibly blown fuse. Also could be that your inertia switch has tripped.
The normal position of the inertia switch button is down , if it has popped up then the switch is tripped and no power is going to the electric fuel pump
Inertia switch is at the right rear side behind a panel just between the back seat and the tail gate.(inside the car)
Bad fuse or fuel pump inertia switch " tripped " or bad wiring connection
