what kind of clay? if its polymer clay, then eating small bits wouldn't kill you. it's non-toxic so, even if you ate large bits, you'd probably only get a tummy ache. although, whatever type of clay it is, i really wouldn't recommend you eat it.

Many people take benefit of using clay internally (with water, don't just eat it like it is).

Here are a few ways how you can benefit from drinking water with clay (1/2 to 1 tsp in one cup of water):

· - Digestive disturbances like acid reflux, constipation, bloating, gas, etc. (Kaolin clay was common ingredient in medicines like Maalox and Rolaids for years)

· -To help speed recovery from vomiting and diarrhea

· -Detoxification

Make sure to use quality clay that is suitable for internal use. Bentonite clay is a good example.

Bentonite Clay is a unique clay due to its ability to produce an "electrical charge" when hydrated. Upon contact with fluid, its electrical components change, giving it the ability to absorb toxins. Bentonite is known for its ability to absorb and remove toxins, heavy metals, impurities, and chemicals for our body.

The downside: Clay sees medications as toxins as well. So if you are taking Birth Control pills or medication, it will capture those compounds and eliminate them from your body… and they will have no effect. So be careful with clay.

What happens when you eat polymer clay?

Polymer clay is plastic and is not particularly healthy to eat, like all kins of plastic. However, small amounts of clay digested will not be of any hazard to your health. Polymer clay have today no health hazard label, and is certified as nontoxic, meaning that you will not be poisoned if you eat small amounts of clay. But, since it is plastic, it may cause some problems if eaten in large quantities. I would in any case, toxic or not, recommend you not to eat it, and you should keep it out of reach of small children and pets.
