it will temporarily make it not squeek but can make it slip
its loose or a component on the belt is freezing up and causing niose get a bar of bath soap and while the car is running rub the soap on the belt -both ides--- watch your fingers!!
It's a possibility that your car may not start correctly.
Most likely alternator. Rub a bar of soap on the accessory belt(s), if the noise goes away, you need a new belt.
That would be the pulley belt. Take a bar of any hard soap and carefully rub some on the underneath of the belt (the part that faces down) then start the car back up, it should stop the chirping. Have a mechanic check the belt condition ASAP.
Wash the air breather out with a bar of soap.
What do you mean by body soap? Soap that is in bar form, or soap that in a bottle like body wash? Bar soap could pick up sand and grit that might scratch the finish. Body wash is a mild abrasive but I have never heard of anybody using it for washing a car but I assume that a slight clouding of the clear coat is possible. If you have access to dish soap (detergent) it is the best improvised automotive soap.
The best way is to take the belt into a DIY car wash bay. Select the 'soap' option and use high pressure to clean off the residue from the belt, then use low pressure rinse to completely remove the soap. Allow to dry before re-installing.
the belt is really hard get a breaker bar, look at the pulley label on the car and find the tensioner its going to be labeled with a pulle with extra belt room. use your breaker bar and pull towards you to slip the belt off
The same thing that happens when you cut the Jugular, its like the main nerve in a car!
If it's noise coming from your fan belt, than try this cause BELIEVE me it works!! Doesn't matter if you are a woman either.. cause I am...:-} Turn your car off - make sure it's cooled down Get a standard bar of washing soap (eg. Dove, Irish Spring... doesn't matter) Locate the fan belt Firmly rub soap along the under-side of the fan belt...just a little on one area will do since it will spread when turned on Try driving your car now... did it work? You may have to get the belt checked, but this will take the squeal away for a bit anyway, and it won't hurt the car! If it worked, gimme a trust point! Thanks
when your inside a car, and you dont have your seat belt on, your like a missle
you need a 15mm socket and breaker bar to put the socket on in order to change the belt. put the socket on the bolt in the center of the belt tensioner and pull towards the front of the car. this takes tension off of the belt and allow it to be taken off. when you put the new belt on just ease the breaker bar back toward the rear of the car until it touches the belt and remove the socket. the tensioner will automaticly adjust its self.
