I was told if the battery is "insufficient" it makes the starter crank slower, the fuel pump pump slower and hence ruins the car. I think that's a bunch of hooey b/c once started, the car runs off the alternator. Nevertheless, my freind believed the mechanic who charged him $1500. for a new battery, starter, fuel pump and other crazy things he mentioned but I just cannot remember. My advice is, hook the terminals to the correct wire (positive/negative) and fire it up!
No, not unless you installed a 6 volt battery instead of a 12 volt battery.
You can't recharge it hooked up in reverse. You will destroy the battery or the charger if you try it.
the battery amp hour (ah) rating is what is important as long as the new battery has the same or higher ah rating it should be OK
You would most likely not be able to clamp it into place as the Saturn battery retainers are very specific.
No. As long as the battery is a 12 volt battery the physical size of the battery does not matter. It can have 300 CCA or 600 CCA. It will still start the engine and will not damage the starter. The reason there are different sizes is so the fit in the battery space snugly and the battery post are oriented properly.
id depends on the size of the car and if the battery will fit in the car
Many Hondas (like my 1998 Civic) use the 51R size, including yours. If the Lexus battery in question happens to be that size, then go ahead and use it. It's rather likely that it isn't, though. Trying to use the wrong size can be done, but it generally isn't worth the hassle of verifying CCA specs and securing it.
Usually a car battery, but it also depends on the size of the battery.
Yes, it can ruin a battery and it can explode.
The car will then be unable to start.
They need to be at 700 cca. I recently had my battery changed and te AAA guy said that I had the wrong size battery in the car (I had 600 cca).
It would vary from car to car.
