You would most likely not be able to clamp it into place as the Saturn battery retainers are very specific.
either alternator or wrong size battery
Nothing as long as it is a 12 volt battery. You may not be able to clamp it securely in place which could cause it to bounce around and damage the battery. It might also not have enough Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) and be weak in the winter. Why would you want to do this in the first place. Bad idea.
No, not unless you installed a 6 volt battery instead of a 12 volt battery.
If you have the wrong size battery in a Cadillac with the northstar will it effect the alternator voltage?
Nothing as long as it was a 12 volt battery.
the battery amp hour (ah) rating is what is important as long as the new battery has the same or higher ah rating it should be OK
No. As long as the battery is a 12 volt battery the physical size of the battery does not matter. It can have 300 CCA or 600 CCA. It will still start the engine and will not damage the starter. The reason there are different sizes is so the fit in the battery space snugly and the battery post are oriented properly.
No, you do not have to go to exact wal-mart that the battery was originally purchased. Though if you do go the Wal-mart that installed it, it would make it much easier on the associate in TLE seeing as how they would have your information. If you happen to go to a store in which you did not purchase the battery, try to either have the receipt or at least be ready to mention a minimum of 2 questions: 1. Where did you buy it? 2. When did you buy it? [i.e. Jan. 2003] and they will more than likely ask you what's wrong with it. The associates will then test your battery and depending on the results of the test, and when you bought it, one of 3 things will happen: 1. They'll say "sorry you're battery is good. There is nothing we can do about it" 2. Within the free replacement they will exchange your battery at no charge [with the same size/same price battery] 3. Exchange your battery with the same price/same size battery and it will be prorated [depending on how old it is, you can pay anywhere from $5 to $45 for your new battery]
may be you have the wrong battery, may be the battery is good with size, and amps, but some models have the connection on the inverse side where you need, then you must to look fot other battery with same size and amp. but with the connection on your right side, I hope this can help you
It would vary from car to car.
we would die
1 guage would be about size of battery cable
