It depends... I guess if the hero finds a way to become a hero without having an adventure, they still are a hero. But I don't think that kind of hero would be very well remembered. I've never read a book like that.

No, unless the person who has made the adventure has for some reason put a virus in the files, which never happens anyway. Adventure maps are perfectly safe to download and are just shared worlds.
