What happens to the air when brake is applied on s-cam brakes?

The air is held in tanks near each axle
Air is put into lines from the "Service Valve" under the Brake Pedel.
It rushes to a valve called a relay valve mounted very close to each axle and each brake.
The air from the service valave causes the Relay valve to send air from the tanks to the brake chambers causing the brake chamber push rod to move.

Sure, while not the type of thing a dealer would normally scam about, it's fine to have it looked at by someone else..and if they are bad...figure out why. (For example, here when people use their truck to tow their boat, and put the rear wheeels in the salt water when launching...it causes all types of wear and trouble back there!)
