AnswerIf you had a growing relationship with Jesus than Heaven, if not than unfortuantly Hell.

_____________________________________

Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Soul life is breath life and when man takes his first breath he becomes a living soul and after he takes his last breath he becomes a dead soul. Soul life is breath life and it is what makes a physical body alive, all living things have a soul. Soul life is not spirit but in The Bible it is referred to as the "spirit of man" because all life is spirit but not all spirit is eternal spirit. All living things have a body and soul, but when someone is born again they have body, soul, and spirit.

Do soul die, or body which must be buried or whatsoever - as a respect for the soul

which dwelled before?

If you had a growing relationship with Jesus than Heaven, if not than unfortuantly Hell.

how come who decided Hell and paradise..Jesus (peace be upon him)or God (Allah) in arabic.

can i have a better understanding, as humans' always on wanting.

When you die your spirit immediately goes to Heaven or hell. you don't just die and be nothing. you don't soul sleep either. the Bible states in a twinkle of an eye you will be changed. that means as soon as you die you'll be transformed into a heavenly body or you'll go to hell and be tormented. there is so much proof that GOD exists. He loves you so much. He created you with images of him and personalities like him, he is perfect unlike us who are sinners. we are all like GOD in some way.

Answer: The Bible teaches that when we die we exist in a dormant state prior to the day of judgement. Then everyone will be judged according to their thoughts, actions, and inactions during their life. None of us could survive aganist such a detailed analysis, but fortunately for those who know Jesus, he has already been punished for the sins of anyone who has put down their pride long enough to accept his aid.

Another Answer:

Someone wrote that your spirit and soul are the same. Not true. Your spirit and soul are definitely NOT the same thing. The Bible proves that. The spirit is the center of our being or our heart, the part of us that worships God. The soul is the mind, will and emotions. The Bible speaks of man as having 3 distinct parts, spirit, soul and body. I Thess 5:23 says, "May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." I've done a study on this. When one dies, the spirit ascends to God, IF the person lived a righteous life. If they didn't their soul dies. But it is God's intent that the soul rest in paradise until the coming of Christ, when the dead are raised and the soul unites with the spirit. That is what I believe and I think it's scriptural.

Another View:

The Bible is quite clear that all mankind will be judged by Jesus Christ post the Millennial Rule. Afterwards, the New Heaven will descend to the New Earth as the old and all physicla matter has been purged by fire. (see 2 Peter 3:10 and Revelation 21).

King Solomon was inspired to tell all what becomes of mankind upon death - or a quiet sleep until the call to Judgment:

Ecclesiastes 12:7

New International Version (NIV)

7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from,

and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Note: Spirit (ruach) is the power of the mind, the 'Ram/Rom' of mankind that is called the 'Spirit of Man in the Bible. Soul (nephesh) is the 'breath of life' found in all air-breathing creatures.

Now Paul in 1 Corinthian 15: 50-56 - the resurrection of the first fruits of this world and 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 - these will rise first at Jesus' 2nd Coming which occurs at the blowing of the 7th Trumpet of Revelation. It is these 'elect' that will become the bride of Christ and the ruling saints with Jesus in the Millennial Rule.

Always allow Scripture to interpret itself - reading all in its full context sometimes in other books of the Bible - like a puzzle.

THIS DEPENDS ON YOUR RELIGION.

Some say good works get you to heaven, others believe in no heaven.

If atheists are right and Christians are wrong everyone stays in the ground and its over.... and they wont even realize it!

BUT if Christians are right and atheists are wrong, the Christians are going to heaven while everyone else, goes to hell. Eternal joy, or eternal punishment, or nothing at all... hmmm.

Bear in mind that all religious questions are debatable, and many different opinions exist on such subjects. Since the souls of the dead do not return to tell us about their experiences, we have no direct knowledge about that happens to your soul after death (even though there are people who claim to receive messages from the souls of the dead, but anyone can make such a claim if they wish, and no such claims have even been convincingly proved to be true). Many people expect that their souls will experience either a good or a bad afterlife known as heaven or hell. Others think that their souls will be reborn and will live again in another body. Others think that the whole idea of a soul is imaginary, and when you die, it's all over for you. You are free to believe any of these theories, or even something entirely different.

Your soul sleeps until the return of Jesus the Christ (if you followed and accepted His gift of forgiveness), or until the judgement of those who did not follow and accept Him. 1 Thessalonians chapter 4, verses 13 through 18 explains it to whoever would be interested in seeing for yourself, I'd recommend you use a King James Bible.

Different religions answer this question differently (some don't even really have a concept of a soul), and ultimately it is a matter of faith which you believe. You should consult a:

  • pastor
  • priest
  • minister
  • elder
  • rabbi
  • imam
  • guru
  • whatever your religion of choice calls its religious teachers

for a definitive answer according to the tenets of that particular religion.

One of the central beliefs of Judaism, as stated in the Talmud (Mishna, Sanhedrin 11:1) and codified by Rambam (Maimonides, 1135-1204), is that the soul continues to exist and is treated in accordance with the person's actions while he or she was alive. This applies to all people, whatever their religion.
The Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) doesn't dwell at length on the afterlife. However, that is not meant to diminish its importance. Rather, the Torah implies that we are to use the bulk of our energies in keeping God's ways and commands in this world, with our feet firmly planted on Earth, while nonetheless not losing awareness of our beliefs.
Our ancient sages stated the importance of being aware of the next world: "This world is a mere entrance-hall before the afterlife" (Mishna, Avot ch.4).

All outstanding accounts are settled after this life. Some cases illustrate this point, since this entire world wouldn't be enough to reward a Moses or punish a Hitler. And while we're alive, awareness of the future world serves as one of the motivations to keeping God's will.

The Tanakh does not delve into detail of the rewards of the righteous because various religions could compete with ever more poetic promises. Also because belief in the afterlife was shared by all ancient societies and needed little reiteration. Besides, it would be like describing the colors of a sunrise to someone who was blind from birth.
It is, however, referred to briefly in Torah verses such as Genesis 15:15, which states that "You (Abraham) will come to your fathers in peace and will be buried in good old age." Coming to his fathers does not mean simply to be buried with them, since Abraham was not buried with his ancestors. Such verses are stated many times.
The prophets are more explicit with such references (see Isaiah 26:19 and 66:24, Daniel 12:13, Zechariah 3:7, 1 Kings 8:30, 2 Kings ch.2, Ecclesiastes 12:7). The afterlife is spoken of at length in the Talmud. More than 20 pages of Talmud (Sanhedrin 90-110, Rosh Hashanah 16-18, and other passages) are given to this subject.

Is every soul part of the universal spirit?

What happens to the Soul at death? Do we see the Soul leave the body? Although we don't, we know that is what causes death, that is why we cremate or bury a body. Where does the Soul go? If the Soul leaves the body, then it has to go somewhere and it doesn't travel through space to go somewhere. It just merges with the Spirit that is everywhere. The best way to understand how the Soul is a part of the Universal Spirit is to blow air into a balloon. Where do you get the air from? From the air that is everywhere. If you burst the balloon, where will the air go? Into the air that is everywhere. So does the Soul. The Soul is energy, is a power and we can feel that power not only inside us but we can feel that power all around us.

Does the soul depart the body when you have general anesthesia?
