When the odometer reaches it's maximum capacity it rolls over to 00000 and starts over.
If the title shows more or less miles then the odometer then the odomter was more than likely replaced or there was a mistake at the dmv. Which happens but can be fixed
The odometer records the total amount of miles your car has traveled. As you drove the car more, more miles got put on the car, and so it changed from what it used to be to the amount of miles traveled now.
I know of no world record for miles on a semi truck. I know of one that has over 3 million miles on the odometer but I would bet there are some with even more.
It expands, taking up more space, if there is no more space, pressure in the container increases.
A word for "how far in miles" could be:distancemileageIf you are looking for a more generic phrase than these, you could say:"the odometer reading showed I drove 114.8 miles" (or whatever number it showed)
Molecules take up less space as they cool. The space contains more molecules.
It displays the total miles or kilometers traveled by the drive wheels on the vehiclesince the odometer was installed or reset. Wikipedia has more info in their odometerpost, and a link is provided.Strictly speaking, the odometer of an automobile counts revolutions of the wheels. The practical application is in its use for measuring the distance the car has traveled. Our crack automotive engineers know how to derive distance from wheel revolutions, because they know the diameter of the tire, and they know how to use the diameter to calculate how far the wheel rolls with each revolution.
This light will come on when after about 4500 miles since last oil change and a reset. It will stay on for a few seconds after you start the engine until you reach 5000 miles, in which it will stay on constantly until reset. To reset the light, insert the key and turn to "ACC". Hold down the odometer button while turning the key to the "ON" position. Continue to hold the button and watch the odometer. Dashes in the odometer window will count down until there are no more dashes in the odometer window.

Discovery is NASA's oldest space shuttle and it has been in flight for more than 25 years. Currently, it has traveled 148,221,675 miles.
Three things happen: First, mechanically, the odometer will roll over to zero. This is not an unusual phenomenon--on most cars built through the 70s and early 80s, the odometer only went to 99,999. Most cars from the mid 80s on have an odometer that will go to 999,999--so it's less likely you'll exceed the mechanical capability of the odometer. Second, when you try to sell the car, you'll have to check a box on the title that says the odometer reading is inaccurate. Cars with an odometer discrepancy are usually less valuable, because a buyer may not readily determine if the car has gone 100,000 miles, 200,000 miles, or more. Third, if your mileage goes high enough the manufacturer may want to put a picture of your car in its advertising. Some companies have clubs for owners of high-mileage cars. The current world record holder for mileage is a 1976 Mercedes-Benz 240d that was used as a taxi in Greece, which logged 4.6 million kilometers.
