volcanoes: make the ground crumble and break and cause plates to move and smash earthquakes: makes the ground break and smash together and causes plates because they break when they hit each other.

well u need plates under the place that is about to erupt or eatrhquakes so to form the volcano u need two Continental plates because they are both light they smash in two another causing a moutin or a volcano if under the mantel a volcano but there is no plates under England hope it helped

Well the oceanic plate is usually lower than the continental plate so i think the ocianic plate will smash upward. I may be wrong...
