A bad inner CV joint will make a clicking noise when making sharper turns on the outside wheel. The clicking noise is from the ball bearing inside of the joint being loose and rattling around inside the race. I recommend getting it replaced ASAP due to the fact that if it fails it will wreak havoc and you could possible lock up the wheel it is bad on and force you to a halting stop or even worse, causing you to lose control and crash. It is always a better bet to be safer than sorry.
Bad inner CV joint?
what happens when cv joint breaks when you are driving on freeway
Yes you have two drive axles that use 2 CV joints, both have an inner CV joint and an Outer CV joint
Use a CV joint pulling tool connected to a slide hammer. Don't repeatedly hit the CV joint with anything else, as you may cause damage to the bearings or the cage. If that happens, you'll be replacing the entire joint very soon.
If not replaced the ball bearings can start dropping out. when this happens your vehicle will not go anywhere,
Yes it does if the car is moving. Because the CV joint is part of the axil if the car is moving the bad CV joint will be moving too. or No it will not make noise if the car is in neutral and the car is not moving.
Bad CV joint.
clicking when turning.
Sounds like a bad CV joint. On most cars, it is often more economical to replace the complete axle shaft on that side that has a bad cv joint. Hope this helps. Good-luck!
if you mean inner cv joint , the boot can rip causing premature failure, but the normal life expectancy of a cv axle can range from 75000 to 150000 miles depending on car and driver habits, could just have worn out
A continious dull banging coming from the wheel when turning
if it is when you turn a corner, it is probably your outer cv joint, if it is when you are driving in a straight line it is probably your inner cv joint. axels
