If you have a bent rim and unbalanced tires, you run a greatly increased risk of causing a crash which kills or injures yourself as well as other innocent people. It also causes much greater wear and tear to your automobile, which will result in more expensive repair and maintenance expense in the future.

The cost to correct this problem is relatively cheap. Fix the problem today and save yourself money in the long run.

Your 2003 Honda van that has wobble in the steering wheel at intermediate speeds Problem started on install of new tires Had tires rebalanced and rotated mechanic thinks bent rim could it be the tires?

it could be the tires. especially if it has been curb checked. a bent rim isn't unreasonable either

Are car tires good if the rim is bent?

If it is severely bent the side wall in that area may be damaged, but if it is just a curb hit, the tire should be fine mounted on another rim. If it is a steel rim, the tire can be taken off and the lip of the rim bent back into place and used.

If I had a bent rim on one of the front tires would it help to rotate them to the back of the car?

No - replace the rim. Go to a salvage yard and take one off a wreck.

What does it mean when it feels like your front wheels are shaking?

it could mean that you have a bent rim, a wheel weight might have fallen off, or you need to have new tires, or it could need a front end alignment, but I would start out checking the balance on the tires and the shop should be able to tell you if it is a bent rim then go from there.
