Considering that the fluid is an aqueous urea solution made with 32.5% high-purity urea and 67.5% deionized water it would not be a good idea to put it in the fuel tank of a gasoline engine. Nothing good would happen and lots of bad things will happen.
Adding to this one... at no point does DEF ever go through the engine in a diesel, either. Exhaust first goes through the outlet into the Diesel Particulate Filter. Then it exits the DPF, and goes through a crossover pipe into the DEF doser. It is at this point that the DEF is sprayed into the exhaust, and, from there, it goes through the SCR catalyst then into the atmosphere.
When we service or repair a DEF system, if you get any DEF on any tools with moving parts (such as ratchets), it must be washed off thoroughly right away, before it crystalizes, or else it will cause your tools to seize up. Now think about how many moving parts are in an engine.
Presumably, exhaust from a gasoline or CNG engine.
If gasoline is used in a diesel it will damage the engine. If diesel is used in a gasoline engine it will do no real damage as the engine will not run.
What happens is you must remove the petrol immediately. Petrol or gasoline will destroy a diesel engine.
It won't run, that's for sure. Diesel is ignited by compression pressure, not by spark. And the compression in a gasoline engine is not sufficient to ignite the diesel.
You could damage the Engine because Gasoline is potent than Diesel
for diesel: break power=34% cooling system=30% exhaust=26% surrounding=10% for diesel: break power=34% cooling system=30% exhaust=26% surrounding=10%
If the engine is diesel, no that is normal. If the engine is gasoline, yes it is probably burning oil.
NO, do not use diesel oil and a gasoline engine.
A gasoline engine will not run on diesel and a diesel engine will be destroyed if you run it on gasoline. Click the link.
It will not run or if it is mixed with gasoline it will not run correctly and smoke depending on how much diesel was added.
Gasoline or diesel engines are compatible with Banks Power exhaust systems, depending on the type of exhaust system purchased. Most of their products are for Jeep, Ford and Dodge diesel engines.
Mix diesel in a gasoline engine and it will stall or run very poorly depending on how much you mixed in. Mix gasoline in a diesel engine and you will have engine damage.
