Have seen it happen twice both were sales staff in a dealership. (from memory) All it does is end up blowing about 3 fuses, main fuse and a couple of others. All are under the bonnet and easy to find. Once the fuses are replaced you may need to clear some fault codes which any Mazda dealer can do for you..
cars have a ground, switching will not do anything nor run anything, but jump a battery the wrong way you have fireworks
It could have blown fuses, melted wiring, and ruined computers or other electronic items.
The battery in located in the trunk, and the positive terminal is the one that is slightly larger and labeled with a + sign.
disconnect negative battery terminal depress brake petal fully for 30-45 seconds reconnect negative battery terminal
the negative cable is the one tha go to the chassy or the engine . And the positive go to the fuse box.
The positive battery terminal cable will always run to the alternator- just follow it down.
it connects to any positive(hot wire) terminal controlled by key.
The starter on a 1996 Mazda B3000 is located near the battery terminal. To change it, first unbolt the negative cable from the battery terminal and raise the right front corner of the Mazda B3000 with a jack. Unbolt the starter wiring and thread the mounting bolts through the starter. Finally, reconnect the starter wiring.
Did you try disconnecting the positive battery terminal for a minute then reconnecting it? Soemtimes this will reset the computer and the light will go out.
disconnect the negative terminal of your battery and press on the foot brake for 10 seconds or use a scan tool to clear the codes
After correcting what the initial problem that caused the light to come on, I was able to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for about 1-2 minutes and the light went away. I hope this helps... "01" Mazda Tribute 3.0L V6
