Although procedures vary somewhat according to what kind of warrant it may be (criminal warrant - traffic warrant - etc) the 'mechanics' of it may be as follows: You will be formally arrested - go through the booking and identification procedure (fingerprinting/photographing) - held for the next session of court or presented immediately (if it is in session) and at your presentment a determination will be made by the judge as to the charges - and you will be offered the chance to post bond.

A LOT OF PEOPLE TURN THEMSELVES IN IF THEY HAVE A WARRANT AS OPPOSED TO BEING HANDCUFFED AND ARRESTED. TURNING YOURSELF IN IS A GOOD THING. YOU CAN GO TO A BAIL BOND CO. AND PRE BOND. TURN YOURSELF IN THEN THEY COME IN BEHIND YOU AND BOND YOU OUT. TURNING YOURSELF IN JUST GETS RID OF THE WARRANT SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER ALL THE TIME. PLUS YOU GET TO PICK THE TIME AND DAY WHEN YOUR READY TO DO IT. THE POLICE DEPT. ALSO LIKES THAT AND WOULD PROBABLY TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN YOU GO TO COURT.

When you turn yourself into police after a warrant has been issued, they will take you in, process you (finger prints, photo etc). You will be held until court is in session and a judge can set you bail or release you on your own recognizance OR if your bail has already been determined you can bail or bond out after you are processed.

The person is taken into custody, booked on the charge and held until the bail arraignment where it is determined whether or not the individual should be released on bond or held until the trial.

Generally is no bail warrant will result in you being held in the jail until you can be taken in front of the judge. They are sometimes called bench warrants because it is a warrant to have you taken to the bench. After the judge sees you he will either release you or sentence you in not already done so.

Can you pay a warrant off?

No, but you can turn yourself in and pay the bail. Exception: if the warrant is for failure to appear on a traffic offense, you can generally pay off the fines and the warrant will be recalled.

I have a warrant in ma?

You live in Arizona but have a warrant issued in Idaho Can you turn yourself in Arizona?

It depends on if it is a Felony or a Misdemeanor. For a felony you can turn yourself in Arizona, but you will likely get stuck with a bill once you get out of jail to cover the cost of extraditing you back to Idaho. Either way, it would be in your best interest to go to the website for the County that issued the warrant and see what guidelines they have for turning yourself in. In Ada County, they list acceptable counties that you can turn yourself into and what will happen if you can or cannot afford bail.

If a police department agrees to having you turn yourself in after a warrant being issued do they have the right to go to your work and arrest you if it has only been twenty four hours?

A warrant gives the police the right to arrest you at any time - that's what a warrant is. So it does not matter if you do or don't turn yourself in, the police have the right to arrest you if they have a warrant.

What happens when a bond is revoked?

When a bailees bond is revoked, that means that the bondor or the court has deemed them to be too much of a repeat offender risk, or too much of flight risk. They must surrender themselves immediately to jail to await, in custody, court action on their case instead of being "free."

What should i do if the bail bonds company i paid to remove two warrants has yet to remove my warrant and when questioned they don't know why or what happend?

Im pretty sure it's the same in every state, but I know in TN if you have a warrant then you either have to turn yourself in or wait till the county that your warrants are in find and arrest you. It would be in your best interest to turn yourself in. You can't pay a bondsman to remove your warrants, only the person who filed them can drop them. The bondsmans job is to get you out of jail. If you were never booked in (gave your personal information, had your picture taken, received a court date, etc) then there was no reason for you to call a bondsman. If you have not been arrested on these warrants, or turned yourself in and you payed a bondsman to just get rid of your warrant, then you got ripped off. Unfortunately, this happens alot. If you have in fact been booked in on these charges and you payed a bondsman to bail you out and youre asking why the warrants are still on your rercord, they will stay there as inactive (meaning they have been served on you) for quite a number of years, if not indefinitely
