Now, why would anyone want to ingest a staple wire? I assume you mean someone straightened out the bends in a staple used to staple papers...then swallowed it? If an adult or child swallowed this metal, please visit the ER or a doctor NOW. The stomach cannot break down metal. Straight wires also do not do well with all the bends in the intestines. It could get stuck or poke through the intestinal wall-- if it does, bowel contents can leak into the abdomen, which is a surgical emergency.
SO this is a SERIOUS issue, even if you have no bad symptoms (YET). The person who swallowed it MUST see a doctor ASAP.
If a PET swallowed this, get your pet to a Vet ASAP.
It depends on size of wire and size of staple. a staple 1/2 inch long can hold 1 10-2 wire, 1 12-2 or 12-3 wire, or 2 14-2 or14-3 wires. basically the bigger the staple the more wires. Just be careful not to hammer the staple into the wire. You want the staple snug but not biting into the wire.
Close to a box to prevent rubbing/wearing of the insulation. Do not drive the staple so tight that the wire cannot move; if the wire is too tight it may flatten and overheat under the staple, increasing the potential for fire.
im not 100% positive but i think its 6inches
