Tea has more caffeine than coffee weight for weight but tea uses less grams in the cup so a cup of tea has less caffeine than a cup of coffee so probably the same thing may apply for antioxidants
Green tea is a superpower among other teas in terms of antioxidants. Although, rumors of other teas such as black tea, are thought to have a lower antioxidant count. When in truth they are equally beneficial as green tea in other ways. Black tea is manufactured with other particles that eventually adapt to form and promote oxidant fighting nutrients in the blood. Other well known high antioxidant tea next to green tea, is white, redbush and honey bush teas.
If I had to make a list of teas to focus on to get a good amount of antioxidants it would be the following:
1. White Tea
2. Green Tea
3. Oolong Tea
4. Yellow Tea
5. Pu-erh Tea
p.s. If your main focus is getting more antioxidants, I would consider consuming more grapes as well. When I conducted a project on cancer and alternative medicine, grapes was used as a way to fight oxidants in the blood without patients using heavy dosages of medicines.
(Hope this helps)
True tea is made from only one plant, dried leaves of the camellia plant (camellia sinensis). Camellia leaves are very high in antioxidants. There are many other kinds of plants that are steeped in hot water to make a drink that is sort of like a tea, but they aren't really tea. Tisane is another name for these herbs in hot water drinks. There are so many different kinds of herbs that can be soaked in water, that it depends on what individual herbs a person is using to find out what antioxidants it may or may not contain. Black tea and green tea (camellia sinensis) are healthy drinks, for any other plants you need to consult an herb guide or book.
Herbal, caffeine-free tea often has the most benefits in terms of reducing the risk of some cancers, Heart disease, stroke, and other ill-effects of aging. Choosing a green tea often gives you the most anti-oxidants with the least amount of caffeine. Caffeine-free teas come in all forms and choosing the best kind is really up to what you want out of your tea. Teas can have anything in them, ranging from spearmint, to lemongrass, to orange rinds, to rose buds.
Out of the four true teas - White, Green, Oolong, and Black - White tea has the most antioxidants.
Some types of herbal teas that have antioxidants are green tea, black tea, white tea, yellow tea, oolong tea, and many others. In fact, most teas contain antioxidants.
The biggest benefit of tea is that it is healthy for most people to drink six to eight cups of tea per day. When you compare the amount of antioxidants in eight cups of tea to the amount of antioxidants in two cups of coffee, tea wins.
Coffee has more caffeine than tea. For more details about tea: Most "tea" such as black, green and white tea are all made from the same plant called Camellia Sinensis. However, black tea has the most caffeine, then green, then white. This is because white tea is made from new camellia sinensis leaves (or baby tea leaves they are sometimes called), green tea is made when the leaves are a little older, and black tea is made from even older leaves. White tea also has the most antioxidants (beneficial). The newer the leaves, the more antioxidants and the less caffeine a tea has. The older the leaves, the less antioxidants and more caffeine it will have. Hope this was helpful! = )
All fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants (however some are more widely advertised as containing antioxidants than others). Decent levels of antioxidants can also be found in dark chocolate, red wine, tea (both green and black) and coffee.
Both coffee and tea contain antioxidants and have varied health benefits. The one drawback which coffee has to a greater extent than tea is the amount of caffeine. For people with certain health conditions, such as heart disease, the amount of caffeine in coffee could be detrimental, making tea a better choice for them.
Yes it does. Many people think that green tea contains more antioxidants than black tea but believe it or not black tea contains just as much antioxidants as green tea. Just read the nutrition information on the packages. So to answer your question black tea in tea bags does have antioxidants.
There are many benefits of green tea, but perhaps the most important is the amount of antioxidants. Antioxidants reduce free radicals in your body. Free radicals can lead to cancer and premature aging. Green tea has more antioxidants than black tea, and it has less tannins that stain your teeth and cups.
Tea has been scientifically proven to be healthy, while coffee is rather unhealthy.A Broader Look:This is one of those eternal arguments. Opponents of coffee site higher caffeine contents in coffee, however most caffeinated teas, predominantly black and orange Pekoe have dramatically higher caffeine contents than coffee by weight. Green tea in fact is one of the highest naturally occurring sources of caffeine. Tea drinkers site naturally occurring sources of antioxidants, fluoride and tannins in tea and the anecdotal health benefits of these elements. However, the levels of all three are essentially the same and occasionally higher (especially antioxidants) in coffee. Fluoride content is more a matter of the natural level of the substance in the soils in which the plants are grown.By and large, there is little nutritional difference between tea and coffee aside from the plants from which each is harvested.
Tea.
On average coffee, but that is not to say that tea does not have caffeine. Tea USA brands per 8 oz has about 40 mg Drip coffee has about 115-175 mg Just to add a little more to this answer: If you were to measure the amount of caffiene in tea leaves and coffee beans you would find more caffeine in tea but the way coffee beans are processed and ground means that more of the caffeine from coffee gets into the drink. To summarise: If you are talking about the drink: Coffee generally has more caffeine If you are talking about the plants: Tea generally has more caffeine.
Usually coffee has much more caffeine than tea, however though some teas have as much caffeine as coffee, (suprisingly)!Coffee has twice as much caffeine as teaCoffee! It has twice as much caffeine as tea
The correct way to tell people about your love of java is to say that "I prefer coffee to tea."
Green tea leaves are not processed for as long as black tea leaves are. Therefore, they retain more of their antioxidants and vitamins and are more highly recommended for your health.
