My answer is going to apply only to vet schools in the U.S.
It is conceivable that you could become a vet without ever having a high-school degree, if you were able to get a college education anyhow. By the time you apply to vet school, your high school education will not matter as much as it does when applying to undergraduate school. However, there are some things it is recommended that you take.
I think the best answer to your question is given by this page: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/admissions/hsinfo.htm
It's written by the admissions office of one of the nation's best vet schools; basically the people whose answers matter the most. Many other vet schools have similar pages, and since there's a small number of accredited vet schools in the country, it won't be to hard to check out all of them.
To summarize a bit, learn how to write well, learn science and math, and prepare yourself to get into and excel at the best undergraduate program you can, because vet school is really competitive!
At my school you can take canine science, animal science, advanced animal science, intro to vet tech, vet tech 1, and vet tech 2.Then after you finish vet tech 1 and vet tech 2 you get a certificate that qualifies you as a certified vet assistant. You could also join the FFA or 4H club.
You cannot become a veterinarian directly out of high school - it takes at least seven years of college before you can become a veterinarian in the United States. However, you can take some classes to help you work towards becoming a veterinarian. These include Biology, chemistry, physics, algebra II and pre-calculus.
i don't know all the courses needed to become a vet but i know that you need to do pre-cal math in school.
College prep classes
That is a great idea to have high school classes online. You should check this site: http://www.theamericanacademy.com/ they could be a great help for you.
I would say Digital Classes. They will most likely help!
To play football in high school you will need to maintain a GPA of 2.0 or better, so ALL of your classes are important to be able to play. Math classes may help you in critical thinking and in understanding directions.
