The best thing to do is take some fire science classes at a local college. Also join the junior firefighter program, i don't remember what its called though.
For most departments you must have a high school diploma. Some departments are now requiring two years of college before you can be hired. This is for paid departments, but I'm not sure about volunteer departments.

To become a veterinarian at Texas A&M (or any vet school), you need to be accepted to the college or school of veterinary medicine and major in veterinary medicine.
You only have to have taken all your classes and go through Medical School

Cosmetologist go to the School of Cosmetology after they finish high school. Most programs last about two years and then they can receive their certificate.
You need accounting and maths; any other business/finance subjects will be to your advantage!
One appropriate program of study would be journalism.
