The Battle of Hill 875 was started by an initial assault by 330 men of Alpha, Charlie and Delta Companies of the 2d Battalion (Airborne) 503d Infantry, 173d Airborne Brigade on Sunday the 19th of November 1967. On the 20th of November as the sun was setting the 4th Battalion 503d Infantry arrived to reinforce 2/503. The Battle ended on Thansgiving Day 1967. Medals of Honor were awarded to Chaplain (Major) Charles Watters and SP4 Carlos Lozada.
