In the past some people have used oils and some have even tried baking soda or meat tenderizer to stop itching. It is best to use commercial lotions designed to help with that problem. Gold Bonds ointment or powder works like a charm or hydro-cortisone in the ointment form can help. Some people swear by a product that comes in a green square tin called Bag Balm. I like it but it doesn't always help with itching. You can also use products that have benzecaine in them to stop the itching - see pharmacist for the best one to use on your neck or see your doctor.
