Hi, I can tell you that you will have to go through passport control at Dublin's airport and my passport has always been checked. However on returning from Dublin to the UK I have never had to produce any I'D at Heathrow T1.

Whether you need an ID to go from Belfast to Dublin would depend on your nationality. British and Irish people can travel without the need for id, but people from other countries may need them, or even a visa.

That is a broad ranging question. You may need a passport or visa, depending on where you are coming from. Other than that, you would bring the normal things that you would bring on any journey, like clothes. The currency used in Dublin is the Euro, so you will need to have that. If you are coming to live and work or study, then you will need to have made some arrangements beforehand and have a good idea of where you are going and what you will do when you are here. Check up things like maps of the city, and general information about the city, all of which can be found on many websites.

That will depend on where you are coming from and your own nationality. That is something you would have to check out with your local authorities. As a general rule, for any international travel you will always need a passport.
